Souderton Braves Flag 2, 80, 90, 105 and 135-pound teams complete great seaons

The Souderton Braves Flag 2 team had a great year. The team, made up of 5-to 7- year old boys, learned the important aspects of the game of football and had a blast executing on the field.

The Souderton Braves 80-pound tackle team completed a a great 2011 season The players had fun, worked hard, played through the rain and snow and pulled together as a team for another strong season. The families would like to thank the tireless efforts of our coaching staff and look forward to next season.

The Souderton Braves 90-pound football team had another successful season, finishing 8-1-1. All season long, the defense was tough to score on, yielding only 50 points.

The offense was able to strike from anywhere on the field, averaging more than 17 points per game. The coaches were impressed with all the boys and enjoyed watching them grow as a team. They are excited about next year and hope to see them all come back in 2012.

Defensively, Andrew Vince, Stephen Blue, Brian Geatens, Nick Force, Kyle Cullen, and Mason Schmidt lead the charge, while the defensive line anchored by Josh Johnson, Luke Bosico, Julian Sensinger, Matt and Ethan Smerecki, Tanner Simmons, and Joey Donnelly made it difficult to run up the middle.

The offensive line throughout the year opened holes, controlled the line of scrimmage, and was anchored by Nate Moyer, Nicholas Cardona, Eric Mawhinney, Ryan Canfield, Dylan Auen, Brandon Garner, Vincent Spiese, Luke Bosico, Matt and Ethan Smerecki, Kyle Cullen, Josh Johnson, and Julian Sensinger. The backs, led by DeAndre Wakefield, Connor McOwen, Nick Force, Brian Geatens, Mason Schmidt, Stephen Blue and Andrew Vince, utilized the holes created by the offensive line to drive towards the end zone and control the clock during games.

The Souderton Braves 105-pound football team had a very successful season, compiling a 7-3 league record.

The Souderton Braves 135-pound Junior Midgets are just finishing a 4-7 season with the realization of how far they have come. With only 22 kids on the team, and many out for injuries, these players have earned their wins by truly working as a team. All of these kids learned and developed as football players and are heading into their final game on a winning streak.
