Souderton Braves Flag 2, 80, 90, 105 and 135-pound teams complete great seaons


The Souderton Braves Flag 2 team had a great year. The team, made up of 5-to 7- year old boys, learned the important aspects of the game of football and had a blast executing on the field.


The Souderton Braves 80-pound tackle team completed a a great 2011 season The players had fun, worked hard, played through the rain and snow and pulled together as a team for another strong season. The families would like to thank the tireless efforts of our coaching staff and look forward to next season.



The Souderton Braves 90-pound football team had another successful season, finishing 8-1-1. All season long, the defense was tough to score on, yielding only 50 points.

The offense was able to strike from anywhere on the field, averaging more than 17 points per game. The coaches were impressed with all the boys and enjoyed watching them grow as a team. They are excited about next year and hope to see them all come back in 2012.

Defensively, Andrew Vince, Stephen Blue, Brian Geatens, Nick Force, Kyle Cullen, and Mason Schmidt lead the charge, while the defensive line anchored by Josh Johnson, Luke Bosico, Julian Sensinger, Matt and Ethan Smerecki, Tanner Simmons, and Joey Donnelly made it difficult to run up the middle.

The offensive line throughout the year opened holes, controlled the line of scrimmage, and was anchored by Nate Moyer, Nicholas Cardona, Eric Mawhinney, Ryan Canfield, Dylan Auen, Brandon Garner, Vincent Spiese, Luke Bosico, Matt and Ethan Smerecki, Kyle Cullen, Josh Johnson, and Julian Sensinger. The backs, led by DeAndre Wakefield, Connor McOwen, Nick Force, Brian Geatens, Mason Schmidt, Stephen Blue and Andrew Vince, utilized the holes created by the offensive line to drive towards the end zone and control the clock during games.


The Souderton Braves 105-pound football team had a very successful season, compiling a 7-3 league record.

The Souderton Braves 135-pound Junior Midgets are just finishing a 4-7 season with the realization of how far they have come. With only 22 kids on the team, and many out for injuries, these players have earned their wins by truly working as a team. All of these kids learned and developed as football players and are heading into their final game on a winning streak.

Successful seasons for Souderon Braves Flag, 70-lb. and 120-lb. teams


The Souderton Braves flag football team was a great group of 5-7-year-old kids who came together as a team to learn the game.


The coaching staff is very proud of the 2011 Souderton Braves 70-pound football team. The team grew so much as players and as teammates throughout the season and enjoyed a fun and muddy season. The Braves improved with each game they played. The teams thanks the parents who helped make this season great.

It was a season to remember for the 2011 Souderton Braves 120-pound Football team. The Braves played New Hope-Solebury in the Bux-Mont Championship on a snow-covered turf field
“We grew as a team, they grew as football players and all of them played a season with great heart, they made me very proud,” coach Mike Rowan said.

Souderton Braves cheerleaders compete at Bux-Mont Cheer Classic

The Souderton Braves cheerleading teams took part in the Bux-Mont Cheer Classic at Quakertown High School on Oct. 1. Advancing competition squads will compete at Temple University on Oct. 22.


The Souderton Braves Tiny Mites (70 lb.) cheer squad gave great effort , looked amazing and had a great performance at the Bux-Mont Cheer Classic.

The Souderton Braves Jr. Mitey Mites (80 lb.) cheer squad showcased its skill at the Bux-Mont Cheer Classic. The first and second year girls proved they had spirt and skill to go far, looked great and represented the Braves well.

The Souderton Braves Jr. Pee Wee (105 lb.) cheerleading squad competed at the Bux-Mont Cheer Classic, with the 29-girl team taking first place in its division.

The Souderton Braves Pee Wee (12) cheer squad took first place at the Bux-Mont Cheer Classic, with the team competing again in the qualifiers competition at Temple University on Oct. 22.

After months of hard work, the Souderton Braves Midget (160 lb.) cheer squad wowed the crowd at the Bux-Mont Cheer Classic with high-flying baskets, twisting dismounts and explosive energy to qualify for the the Regional Qualifier on Oct. 22 at Temple to try and reach regional competition Trenton, N.J. in November.

Souderton Braves cheerleaders compete at Bux-Mont Cheer Clasic

The Souderton Braves cheerleaders took part in a first-ever even that included Bux-Mont Fun Day (Exhibition) squads as well as competitive squads. Previous years, the event was held over two days, while this year's 2010 Bux-Mont Cheer Classic was held at Penndale Middle School on Oct. 2 with 1,300 participants from 18 different school districts.

Flag
The Souderton Braves Flag cheerleading squad performed beautifully at the Cheer Classic. First time performers included Rylee Bernhauser, Tayten Kovach, Bryn Lynch, Danielle Michael, Alaina Moffitt, Isabella Nester and Savanna Passerini. Performing for the second year were Adriana Nester and Mia Sensinger.

70 lb. Tiny Mites

The 70 lb. Tiny Mites and coaches had a day full of fun, nerves and spirit at the Bux-Mont Cheer Classic. With all that in check, the girls put on a powerful performance that had the crowd yelling and chanting with them.

90 lb. Mitey-Mites

The Mitey-Mite Cheerleading squad cheers for the Souderton Braves 90 lb. Youth Football team. The girls who have experience ranging from five years to first time participants are lead by a dedicated coaching staff who were also once Souderton Braves Cheerleaders. Parents and spectators were impressed by the routine performed, which the squad has been working on since mid-August. Fun was had by all during the exhibition as they demonstrated their cheerleading skills alongside 10 other Bux-Mont Mitey-Mite cheerleading squads.

105 lb. Junior Pee Wee
The 105 lb. Junior Pee Wee squad, coached by Jan, Kelly, Kim and Larissa, had its exceptional effort and tireless practices showcased at the Bux-Mont Cheer Classic on Oct. 2 at Penndale Middle School. The Junior Pee Wee squad would like to thank SAYFA for its new uniforms.  

Midget
The Midget Squad had an amazing performance at the Bux-Mont Cheer Classic. The squad consists of girls from ages 11-14 with experience ranging from those brand new to cheerleading to those that have cheered fro seven or more years. The team placed first and advance to the South/West Qualifiers on Oct. 30 in Trenton, N.J.
