On Sept. 5, the Towamencin U10 Tigers girls soccer team won the U10 Gold championship at the 23rd Annual Al Perlini Tournament in Warminster, Pa.
We played four games. The tournament started at 8:30 a.m. and ended at 6:30 p.m. It was the longest tournament we’ve ever played in one day.
In the first game we played, we had a bit of a slow start, but we won 1-0. That was a good way to start the day.
We had time to rest and were ready for the second game. This game was amazing, because we were tied 0-0 at half time, but the Tigers started scoring with only a few minutes to go and we won 4-0. Our coach tells us that "good things happen when we shoot and follow up," and he was right.
Then it was time for the third game, which we needed to win to have a chance at the championship. We did it! The final score was 2-0. We were so happy.
The last game was very close. The other team almost scored a few times, but our goalie, Julie Mumford, had some amazing saves. Then, we finally scored, the game ending with a 1-0 win for the Tigers. We won the championship! The best thing was our defense because we had no goals scored against us. We got amazing trophies. This was my favorite tournament so far!
