The Towamencin Tigers U10 girls soccer team played in the West-Mont Battle at Hilltop soccer tournament. We played a very tough schedule with five games on Saturday and two on Sunday. The first three games of the tournament were qualifying games to break-up the nine teams in the our age group. The Tigers finished in fifth place during the qualifying round and won the next two games.
On Sunday, our team won our first game to go into the final game with a chance to win first or second place in the tournament.

The Tigers played the last game against a familiar team - the U10 team from Montgomeryville. The Tigers started off very slow and were losing 2-0 at halftime. After halftime, it started to rain and the field and everyone playing on it got really wet. At this point, the Tigers started to step up their game. Our defenders scored two goals on really long shots and the game was tied. We went on to score three more goals and finished in second place in the tournament. The Tigers left everything on the field during the last game.

The second place trophy we received is silver with a net in the back and a pile of silver soccer balls for the canon which is shooting a soccer ball. The trophy is pretty cool but the important thing is that we worked as a team in the tournament. We are good friends and friendship is a big part of team work. I could not be more proud of my team - we played really well in the tournament and are prepared for the next one.
