Montgomery United U12 Arsenal takes first at Buckingham March Into Cups



The Montgomery United U12 Boys, the Arsenal, recently captured the championship at the Buckingham March Into Cups tournament. In the three games they played the Arsenal tied host Buckingham and defeated teams from Lower Merion and Wyoming Valley. The Arsenal scored a total of 13 goals and allowed only two. The team's coaches are Kevin Boccella, Brad Brautigam and Barry Jerome.

Montgomery United U11 Spirit take first at Buckingham March Into Cups



The Montgomery United U11 Girls, the Spirit, were recently crowned champions at the Buckingham March Into Cups tournament. They won all three of their games against teams from Buckingham, Lionville and Lower Merion. The Spirit scored eight goals and allowed only two. The team's coaches are Chris Varrila, Mark Dungan and Barry Jerome.

MUSC Gladiators win Hempfield Soccer Tournament U10 Championship


The Montgomery United Soccer Club Gladiators won the U10 championship at the Hempfield Soccer Tournament with a 3-2 victory.

MUSC U11 Union take second at Battle at Hilltop Tournament


In its first tournament together as a team, the Montgomery United Soccer Club U11 Union boys soccer team took second place at West-Mont United's Battle at Hilltop Tournament on Aug. 27.

MUSC Karen Wildey Memorial Soccer Tournament

The Fourth Annual MUSC Karen Wildey Memorial Soccer Tournament was recently hosted by Montgomery County Community College. The teams below placed in the top three in the tournament.  This tournament is dedicated to the memory of Karen Wildey, one of MUSC’s parents, whose untimely passing occurred in 2007. Proceeds from this tournament will be used to provide anti-DUI education/ awareness program(s) to students.

MUSC U10 Force win Shoot For the Cure Tournament

The Montgomery United Soccer Club (MUSC) U10 team, The Force, won the 10th Annual Shoot For The Cure Tournament, which is hosted by MUSC and benefits Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

Successful season for MUSC U10 Lightning

The MUSC U10 Lightning girls soccer team recently completed a very successful indoor soccer season at YSC Sports in Hatboro. The team finished atop the league's regular season standings with a record of 7-1-1.

In the playoffs, the Lightning lost their opening game to the MUSC Spirit. But the team rebounded to defeat Upper Dublin White, Chestnut Hill and Upper Dublin Red to reach the finals, where the Lightning lost a well-played, intense rematch to the MUSC Spirit 1-0.

MUSC U13 Blizzards win ICSL Division 4 Championship

The Montgomery United Soccer Club U13 Blizzards girls soccer team was recently named 2010 champions of the ICSL 4 North Division. The Blizzards completed their undefeated season with a record of 8-0-2, allowing just five goals in division play.

U-9 MUSC Gladiators second at Hempfield Fall Classic

The U-9 Montgomery United Gladiators came in second place in the U-9 'A' Division of the Hempfield Fall Classic in Lancaster. The Gladiators went 3-0 in the tournament pool play to reach the championship match.

Recently, the Gladiators won their division of the Inter County Soccer League, finished with a record of 9-0-1. They scored a division-high 45 goals, while allowing a division-low three goals.

MUSC U-8 Boys B Team first at Roger Erb Select Tournament

The Montgomery United Soccer Club U-8 Boys B team placed first at the Roger Erb Select Tournament on Nov 27 in Lansdale. The Thunder shut out Phoenixville (3-0), Allentown (3-0) and Warrington (3-0).

MUSC U10 Lightning finalists at Hempfield Fall Classic

The Montgomery United Soccer Club U10 Lightning girls soccer team was recently a finalist at the 25th annual Hempfield Fall Classic Nov. 20-21 in Lancaster.  The Lightning won their first three games, besting Henlopen, N.J. (2-1), Harleysville (4-1) and Litiz (5-0) with seven different players collecting a goal. The results sent the Lightning to the finals, where they dropped a hard-fought 3-1 decision to Spirit United Barcelona.

The Lightning also claimed fist place in the Inter-County Soccer League this fall with an 8-0-2 record.

Montgomery United Furty U-13 Boys take first at Moorestown Labor Day Tournament

The Montgomery United Fury U-13 Boys soccer team took first place in the Moorestown Labor Day Tournament.  The Fury defeated a team from Burlington 3-0, the Glassboro Blackhawks 3-1 and in the final against the host Moorestown Union earned a 6-2 win.

MUSC U10 Lightning win Western Lehigh Columbus Day Weekend Tournament

The Montgomery United Soccer Club U10 Lightning girls soccer team  won the championship of the Western Lehigh Columbus Day Weekend Tournament on Oct. 9-10, claiming victories in all four games as it played teams as far away as Long Island. The Lightning surrendered just one goal in the tournament.

MUSC Gators U9 claim first place at Deep Run Labor Day Tournament.

The Montgomery United Soccer Club Gators U9 girls soccer team took first place at the Deep Run Labor Day Soccer Tournament. The Gators finished the tournament 3-0, shutting out all three of their opponents.

MUSC U13 Black Magic win Spirit United Tournament's Premier Division



The MUSC’s U13 girls soccer premier team,  the Black Magic, won the Premier Division of the prestigious Spirit United Tournament. The Black Magic defeated the Amity Blue Lightning (5-1), the Washington Township SA Wave (1-0), the AC Perugia USA Grifos (2-0) in the semifinals and FC Lehigh 1-0 in the finals on a Sydnee Towns goal in the second overtime. Kristina Miller assist on the championship-clinching goal.

In the first game Jenny Sheppard scored twice, with Jani Johnston, Sarah Walker and Towns adding goals in the victory. Maria Thomas scored the only goal against Washington Township. In the semis, Thomas scored twice on direct kicks.

Aneliese Jennings was solid in goal all weekend. The defense was led by Erica DeCandido, Kelsey Burns, Jorden Johnson and Jani Johnston.  Playing at the midfield and striker positions were Maria Thomas, Hannah Alexander, Megan Swintosky, Shelby Chiodo, Kate Diveny, Kristina Miller, Jenna Silverman and Julianne LaSanta.

A week earlier, the Black Magic went undefeated in the Colleen Reilly Tournament, but placed second to the Freehold SLWarrington SC Freedom 2-0, tied the USTA Strikers 1-1, downed the Ukrainian Nationals 3-1 and defeated Pearls Pride 1-0 in a rain-shortened contest. The Black Magic and Freehold SL Spirit finished the tournament with the same number of points, but Freehold was named the winner based on goal differential.
