Triple Threat Bearcats 10U takes second at Cal Ripken Under Armour Ignite Tournament
The Triple Threat Bearcats 10U baseball team continued its successful 2010 campaign by placing second in the Cal Ripken Under Armour Ignite Tournament May 22-23.
The Bearcats took a 13-3 record into the tournament to face some of the best 10U teams on the East Coast and played on youth-sized versions of fields such as Oriole Park at Camden Yards, Wrigley Field, Fenway Park and Memorial Stadium.
In the tournament opener, the Bearcats scored four runs with two out sin the final innings to beat Tri-State Arsenal Select 6-5. Wins over the Pittsburgh Outlaws Orange and The Shore Thunder Dogs (Laurel, Del.) advance the team to the semifinals, where the Bobcats came back from a two-run deficit in the final frame to best the SJ Warriors 4-3.In the final, the Bearcats fell to Shore Fire 7-0.
