DRVSA Baseball opens season
Hundreds of baseball players showed their excitement as the official baseball season opened at Deep Run Valley Sports Association. Deep Run has over 660 registered players in the baseball program.
The Master of Ceremonies, Bob Mason began the parade and he introduced the teams. As they ran onto the field, they were given support by the Pennridge High School baseball team and the hundreds of supporters in attendance. The National Anthem was sung by Becca Cole, and the season opening blessing was given by Rev. Ken Burkholder.
The microphone was then handed to Hans Sumpf, President of Deep Run, to deliver the opening day speech. At the end of the speech, the David R. Nyman Volunteer Award was given to Brian Cassel and Duane Freed. Due to their countless hours of hard work and dedication, the Deep Run Baseball program continues to grow and improve.
