Three North Penn YMCA Gators reach East districts

The North Penn YMCA’s Lansdale Branch Gators Swim Team had three swimmers qualify for YMCA PA East Districts at La Salle University in March.

Molly Benney (10-and-under), Jonathan Homan (12-and-under) and Evan Smith (14-and-under) each swam two events, with Benney and Homan both advanced to YMCA PA East-West States at Penn State.
The top 12 swimmers for each event advanced to states. Benney competed in the 100 individual medley and Homan swam in the 50-yard freestyle.

The North Penn YMCA Gators Swim Team gives children of all athletic abilities the opportunity to build self-esteem and healthy bodies with wholesome fun  in a  rewarding team sport.
The swim team is open to boys and girls ages 5-19 of all swimming abilities. Swimmers celebrate the mission and values of the YMCA — caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility — through teamwork and sportsmanship striving to  do one’s best.

The North Penn YMCA is a non-profit, charitable organization that offers a wide variety of programs and services for children, teens, seniors, families and those with special needs in the North Penn, Indian Valley and Perkiomen Valley communities.  Established in 1955, the North Penn Y serves over 18,000 community members and their families through its four branches and numerous outreach locations, regardless of ability to pay.  Locally, the Y provides nearly $1 million in charitable services to 9,000 individuals each year.  Visit the Y online at www.northpennymca.org.
