Trevor Chew of Harleysville sets meet record at UAGTCA Invitational

Trevor Chew, a 14-years-old resident of Harleysville, finished in first place in the 100-meter dash with a meet-record time of 11.42 in the Youth age group (13 and 14 year old) at the UAGTCA (United Age Group Track Coaches Association) Invitational at Widener University July 15-17.

Chew (pictured above on the first-place spot on the podium) broke the four-year-old meet record that was held by recent North Penn High School graduate Brandon Mercer.

Over 1300 athletes from the states of Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Delaware, Virginia and Pennsylvania and the Caribbean nation of Barbados competed in the meet. Chew runs for AOC (Ambler Olympic Club), which practices at Gwynedd Mercy Academy, and is competing in the 100 and 200 meters along with the 4x100 relay at the AAU Junior Olympics July 30-Aug. 6 in New Orleans.
